Surgical Innovations designs and manufactures laparoscopic instruments and port access systems, including its YelloPort access systems and LogiCut disposable scissors, sold under its own SI brand and through OEM relationships with larger device makers. The group also owns Elemental Healthcare, a related distribution business.
It has been publicly listed on London's AIM market since 1998, giving it one of the longest continuous trading histories of any pure-play UK surgical device manufacturer, and continues to report results and trade under ticker SUN as of 2026.
The Bridgehead view
A small, profitable AIM-listed device manufacturer surviving multiple hype cycles in surgical robotics is itself a data point: not every winner in this sector needs venture funding or an FDA de novo pathway, and OEM manufacturing relationships remain a durable, if less newsworthy, route to market.
